What Is the Story of the New Movie?
Netflix has not shared the exact plot details for the new film yet. However, director Rian Johnson has teased that this will be Benoit Blanc's most dangerous case yet. The title Wake Up Dead Man suggests a darker tone than the previous movies. We know the story will follow the classic murder mystery format where someone dies and everyone is a suspect. Benoit Blanc will have to use his smart skills to find the real killer among a group of shady characters.
The movie will take place in a brand new location. The first film was set in a creepy old mansion. The second movie took place on a sunny private island in Greece. Rumors suggest this third movie might take place in London, but Netflix has not confirmed the setting yet. We do know that the story will be completely separate from the last two mysteries. You do not need to watch the old films to understand this new story. This makes it very easy for new viewers to jump right in and enjoy the suspense.
Who Is in the Cast of Knives Out 3?
Daniel Craig is returning as the main star to play the famous detective Benoit Blanc. Netflix has also confirmed a massive list of famous actors who will join him as suspects. The new cast includes Josh O'Connor, Cailee Spaeny, Andrew Scott, and Kerry Washington. Other big names like Glenn Close, Jeremy Renner, Mila Kunis, and Thomas Haden Church are also in the film. Josh Brolin and young actor Mason Thames will also play roles in the movie.
This is a very impressive group of actors. Many of them have starred in major film franchises before. For example, some of these actors have been in big superhero movies and massive sci-fi projects. When Will the New Movie Be Released?
Netflix has officially confirmed that the movie will release in 2025. We do not have an exact release date yet, but production has already finished. Filming started in London in June 2024 and wrapped up in August 2024. Since the filming is done, the movie is now in the editing phase. This means we will likely get an official release date and a teaser trailer very soon.
Many industry experts believe the movie will release in the fall or winter of 2025. The second movie came out in late November, so a holiday release makes a lot of sense. Netflix likes to release its biggest movies during the holiday season when families watch movies together. We expect Netflix to announce the specific month and day sometime in early 2025. For now, fans can rest easy knowing the movie is definitely coming out next year. It will be one of the biggest streaming events of the year.
What Fans Should Know About the Production
Rian Johnson is back as both the director and the writer for this third film. He wrote the scripts for the first two movies and received high praise for them. Netflix signed a massive deal with Johnson to make these sequels, which means he has a lot of creative freedom. This is great news for fans who love his unique style of storytelling. The movie is being produced by T-Street, which is Johnson's own production company.
There are a few rumors going around about the film that are not confirmed yet. Some fans think that a past character might make a surprise cameo. Others believe the movie will have a spooky or gothic theme because of the title. Keep in mind that these are just rumors. Netflix has not confirmed any plot twists or returning cast members other than Daniel Craig. We will have to wait for the first official trailer to see if any of these theories are true. The studio is keeping secrets very safe for now.
