Warner Bros.' highly anticipated follow-up to Burton's original 1988 movie is set to hit theaters on September 6. The cast includes Winona Ryder, Catherine O'Hara, Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci, Arthur Conti, Jenna Ortega, and Willem Dafoe, alongside Keaton reprising his role as the titular character.

The film focuses on Lydia Deetz (Ryder) and her family, who return home after a tragedy and later grapple with the consequences when her daughter, Astrid (Ortega), inadvertently opens a portal to the afterlife. The teaser trailer for "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" debuted in March, featuring Keaton's iconic character declaring to an astonished Ryder, “The juice is loose.

Directed by Burton, the sequel is scripted by Wednesday showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, with Seth Grahame-Smith credited for his contribution to the film's story. Producers include Burton, Dede Gardner, Tommy Harper, Jeremy Kleiner, and Marc Toberoff.

The 1988 movie grossed $73 million at the box office (equivalent to $195 million today) and won the Oscar for Best Makeup. It also inspired a TV animated series and a Broadway musical. Although new to the franchise, Ortega previously collaborated with Burton, who directed and produced her Netflix series "Wednesday."

Burton and the cast unveiled footage from "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" last month at CinemaCon, where the director shared his motivation for the sequel: "I got interested in what happened to the Deetz family." Keaton also revealed to the audience at the event that he had already seen the new movie twice. He enthusiastically added, "I have to tell you this, though. It’s really good."
