Spoiler alert for those who haven’t caught up with White Lotus season two from 2022: Fahy’s character in the Sicily-based season of the Mike White HBO series was the one who found a body washed ashore.

The premiere kept the identity a mystery, setting the stage for a season-long whodunit that eventually revealed Jennifer Coolidge as the victim.

Now, spoiler alert for those yet to binge Netflix's Perfect Couple: The series, which dropped all episodes on Sept. 5, begins with Fahy’s character being found dead in the water, launching another season-long mystery to uncover who killed her. (For those curious about the reveal, you can find it here.)

“I feel like it’s working,” Fahy joked on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, referencing her recent roles. “From now on, it’s just bodies in the water for me.”

During her appearance, she gave insight into the process of playing dead in Hollywood. Both she and Fallon agreed it was fine to spoil the show’s premise since Perfect Couple has become a streaming hit in the weeks since its release.

“It’s called lifecasting,” she explained about creating her dead body double. “They very slowly, over six hours, pour two different types of silicone over you in two sections [lower and upper body]. Then they put plaster on top. But the worst part was the head.”

Fahy and Fallon showed photos of the process, showcasing the incredibly realistic double. Fahy even brought along a picture of herself next to her double from the set.

“It’s kind of a surreal experience,” she shared. “It’s bizarre to see your body in real space like that.”

Talking about her scene with Jennifer Coolidge in White Lotus, Fahy recalled accidentally kicking her co-star in the face during filming.

“I felt awful,” she admitted. “They wanted an underwater shot of my foot touching her body, but I couldn’t see where she was. She was just floating, waiting for my foot, and I accidentally kicked her in the face. She came up from the water and I was like, ‘Oh my God, I’m so sorry.’ But she just said [doing a Coolidge impression], ‘Hey man, you gotta just go for it. Don’t worry about me.’”

Fahy also touched on the choreographed dance sequence that opens Perfect Couple, confessing that learning the moves was tough. “If you can’t beat ‘em or join ‘em, just do your own thing,” she said about her improvised move in the sequence. She then taught Fallon some of the choreography, which the cast dances to Meghan Trainor’s “Criminals.”

Susanne Bier, who adapted Elin Hilderbrand’s murder mystery for Netflix, told Reporter that the musical opener, filmed in just 90 minutes, was meant to highlight the show’s lighthearted tone despite the murder plot.

“I wanted the title sequence to show viewers that they can have fun with this series,” Bier explained. “There’s a joy in seeing people dancing together, and for these characters—who aren’t exactly likable—having that moment just felt perfect to me.”
