Ahead of the premiere of Virgin River's sixth season, the drama has already secured a renewal at Netflix. The cast announced on Instagram on Wednesday that the show will return for a seventh season, consisting of 10 one-hour episodes.

Patrick Sean Smith, known for Greek and Chasing Life, will continue as showrunner and executive producer.
Virgin River, based on Robyn Carr’s book series, follows nurse practitioner Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge) as she relocates from Los Angeles to a remote Northern California town for a fresh start.
However, she quickly discovers that small-town life is more complex than she anticipated and that she must heal herself before fully embracing her new home.
This renewal places Virgin River in an exclusive group of Netflix original series that have (or will have) at least seven seasons. Among the numerous scripted shows for adults on the platform, only Orange Is the New Black, Grace and Frankie, and the animated series Big Mouth have achieved this milestone.
The sixth season of Virgin River is set to premiere on December 19. The cast includes Martin Henderson, Tim Matheson, Annette O’Toole, Colin Lawrence, Benjamin Hollingsworth, Zibby Allen, Sarah Dugdale, Marco Grazzini, Kai Bradbury, Kandyse McClure, and Mark Ghanime.
Last week, Netflix released a teaser for the upcoming season, hinting at a bustling wedding season for Mel and Jack (Henderson). The logline for season six promises a mix of romantic developments, escalating love triangles, wedding drama, and secrets from Mel’s father’s past that will take viewers back to the magic and mystique of Virgin River in the 1970s.
Executive producers include Sue Tenney, Amy Palmer Robertson, Roma Roth, Christopher E. Perry, Robyn Carr, Erin Cardillo, and Richard Keith.
