The decision to renew the show comes as The Floor has quietly become one of the top-performing shows on Fox this season. It averaged 3.47 million viewers in seven days of linear viewing, according to Nielsen ratings, and reached 5.5 million viewers when streaming and other digital platforms are included. The announcement comes just ahead of Fox's upfront presentation to advertisers.
Fox network president Michael Thorn expressed excitement about the renewal of The Floor, citing its popularity among fans as the reason for ordering two more seasons. Plans are already in motion to make the show even more impressive. Thorn also praised Rob Lowe's hosting, highlighting his star power and the anticipation from viewers and contestants for his return.
In addition to The Floor, viewers can expect to see more of Lowe on Fox, as his scripted drama 911: Lone Star is set to return in the fall after a hiatus during the 2023-24 season.
The first-look deal between Lowe and Fox will focus on developing unscripted projects for the network. Any resulting series will be produced by Fox Alternative Entertainment, the network's in-house unscripted studio.
Rob Lowe expressed his excitement about The Floor and the chance to develop more unscripted projects with Fox. The format of The Floor is owned by Talpa, with production handled by Eureka Productions and BiggerStage. Executive producers include John de Mol, Mark van Achterberg, Chris Culvenor, Paul Franklin, Wes Dening, Sean O'Riordan, Shane Byrneserve, and showrunner Anthony Carbone, with Lowe also serving as a producer.
