The singer kicked off the live broadcast of Sunday Night Football on NBC and Peacock, featuring in a pre-recorded opening sequence set to her 1996 hit “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now.”

This segment set the stage for Sunday’s game between the Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburgh Steelers, who hadn’t faced each other in primetime since 1982. It was also their first clash since the iconic Super Bowl XXX in January 1996. Dion begins by paying homage to football.

“I think my favorite thing about this game is its power to connect who we are to who we were,” she said. “It shows that our strongest memories and greatest loves can stay with us forever.”

The camera then shows Dion sporting a Super Bowl XXX sweatshirt with both teams’ logos and helmets. The Cowboys and Steelers have met in three Super Bowls — more than any other pairing.

“You know what I’m talking about, right?” Dion continues. “Sometimes, some nights, it all just comes back.”

The video mixes in footage of past Cowboys vs. Steelers games.

“Their love affair — maybe not love like I usually sing about, but you get the idea,” she adds, before quoting her song: “I mean, ‘When you touch me like this. When you hold me like that.’ It kind of fits, doesn’t it?”

She continues, “But really, what beautiful passion it sparked, what painful heartbreak it unveiled so long ago. Like so many old flames, it feels right when they come back together, don’t you think? Tonight, it evokes the magic they once had. The Cowboys and the Steelers, a timeless classic on Sunday night.”

The video wraps up with Dion being drenched in Gatorade, much like victorious coaches have been over the years.

Watch the video below. “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now” reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 on Oct. 26, 1996, just behind Los Del Rio’s “Macarena (Bayside Boys Mix),” and remained at No. 2 for five weeks.

NBC also noted that Sunday Night Football has been the No. 1 primetime show for 13 straight years, drawing an average of 24 million viewers this season.

Dion’s SNF appearance follows her well-received performance at the 2024 Summer Olympics Opening Ceremony. It was her first public appearance since announcing her Stiff-Person Syndrome diagnosis two years prior, which led her to cancel all 2023 and 2024 tour dates.
