It appears that fans might indeed get a season four of Ted Lasso.

Warner Bros. Television has exercised options on three cast members from the show's initial three-season run, who were under contracts with the U.K.'s acting union Equity. Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, and Jeremy Swift have been approached to return as Rebecca Walton, Roy Kent, and Leslie Higgins, respectively, according to Morfeli Reporter.
With this move, the Emmy-winning soccer comedy is heading toward a fourth season. Once those options are finalized, the studio will need to negotiate new deals with the show's other key actors, who are represented by SAG-AFTRA.
This includes co-creators, executive producers, and stars Jason Sudeikis and Brendan Hunt, along with Juno Temple.
Reps for WBTV declined to comment, and Morfeli has reached out to Apple TV+ as well.
The future of Ted Lasso seemed uncertain after it concluded its planned three-season arc in May 2023. Following the season three finale, which had a definitive series-ending feel, many of the actors admitted they were unsure if another season would happen.
However, the cast also expressed their eagerness to continue exploring their characters’ stories in some form.
Ted Lasso’s main characters ended on a high note. (Spoilers!) Sudeikis' Ted returned to Kansas to be with his son and ex-wife; Beard (Hunt) appeared to tie the knot at Stonehenge; Rebecca (Waddingham) and Keeley (Temple) planned to launch a women’s team in Richmond; and Roy stepped into the role of AFC Richmond’s manager while deciding to pursue therapy.
Earlier this month, series co-creator Bill Lawrence revealed that a fourth season of Ted Lasso hinges on Jason Sudeikis, who faces the challenge of uprooting his life while raising two young children with ex-partner Olivia Wilde.
"Even without discussing it directly, every actor, actress, writer, and producer on the show — we didn’t come together to decide this — but we all loved the experience," Lawrence explained.
"As fans, we'd all jump at the chance for it to continue, but everyone agrees that it's up to Jason. Whatever he decides, we're all on board."
He further noted, "Jason isn’t just the star, he's also the head writer, and the person whose life would be completely upended by moving to another country with young kids. It's a huge deal.
So, as a fan, if someone says, ‘Oh, it's happening again,’ I'd be thrilled. But as a partner, I support whatever decision he makes."
