In a notice submitted on Monday, Combs appealed a federal court's decision to deny him bail. The two-page document did not detail specific arguments.

This legal action aims to overturn the ruling made by U.S. District Judge Andrew Carter, who determined that Combs presents a safety risk to both the community and witnesses involved in the case.

The ruling followed the unsealing of a three-count indictment accusing Combs, also known as “Diddy,” of engaging in a prolonged pattern of physical and sexual violence against individuals close to him.

Federal prosecutors charged him with sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy, alleging that he directed a wide-ranging criminal enterprise through which he assaulted and trafficked women with the assistance of various business associates since at least 2008. He was also charged with transportation for the purpose of engaging in prostitution.

Combs had requested release on a $50 million bond, secured by equity in his Miami home and that of his mother. He proposed limiting visitors to his adjacent Florida properties to family members, property caretakers, and friends who are not considered co-conspirators in the alleged criminal activities.

According to the bail package, the only female visitors permitted to his home would be family or the mothers of his children. Combs also committed to not contacting grand jury witnesses, undergoing weekly drug testing, and maintaining a log of visitors.

If convicted, Combs, 54, faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison, with a maximum potential sentence of life imprisonment. He is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, a facility known for its dangerous and unsanitary conditions.
